This is an extraordinary example of handpainted Madhubani art, celebrating the Tree of Life (Kalpavriksha). The massive tree is rendered in the traditional Kachni style, using thousands of intricate black lines and cross-hatching to fill the trunk and foliage, creating incredible texture. This monochromatic base is punctuated by a burst of color from dozens of brightly filled birds and a large Peacock, a signature of the Bharni style. The artwork completely fills the canvas (Bharam), representing an ecosystem of abundance, vitality, and eternal life.
